Introducing World Social Science Fellows 2013

We are proud to announce the selection of twenty talented early career scientists as our first ever World Social Science Fellows. From 25-30 March 2013, the Fellows will come to Quito, Ecuador to work on creative, interdisciplinary perspectives on sustainable urbanization. This work will be the start of their time as Fellows and we expect to hear much more from them on the challenges of sustainability in an urban age as they take the perspectives into the world.

Joining the Fellows in Quito are Mark Swilling (co-convener; Academic Director of the Sustainability Institute, Stellenbosch, South Africa), Adriana Allen (Senior Lecturer, Development Planning Unit, University College London) and Andrea Lampis (associate professor focusing on social vulnerability, National University of Colombia). The seminar in Quito is being organized in partnership with the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) and the Comparative Research Programme on Poverty (CROP) and generously hosted by the Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar, Quito.
