New video: young scientists on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)published: September 30, 2015
How can scientists and policy-makers work together to solve the world’s biggest problems?
From May 24th – 30th 2015, young scientists gathered at the invitation of ISSC, ICSU and the DFG at Villa Vigoni, Italy, for the Future Earth Networking Conference on Integrated Science on the topic of Future Sustainability – the role of science and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This was the third in a series of networking conferences for young scientists organized around the vision of interdisciplinary, integrated and, above all, innovative research to help societies find answers to the problems of global environmental change.
In this short video, participants discuss how researchers can engage with policy makers to connect science to society, what kind of research is needed, and how the scientific community can contribute to bringing about transformative change.
