Thirty-five research teams invited to submit full proposals for Belmont Forum-NORFACE Transformations to Sustainability programmepublished: July 17, 2017
Following the launch of the Belmont Forum-NORFACE ‘Transformations to Sustainability’ programme earlier this year, 35 teams have been selected for the full proposal stage.
The ISSC will fund social scientists based in low- and lower-middle-income countries to participate in projects selected in the new programme. Twenty-one of the 35 proposals selected include applicants eligible for ISSC funding.
The Belmont Forum and NORFACE launched the T2S programme in January 2017. The programme is inspired by the ISSC’s Transformations to Sustainability Programme, but, as a multi-agency joint programme, operates differently. Together the two programmes mark a step change in scale and scope in funding for social science research on sustainability.
Applications to the research programme are being processed in two stages. In the first stage, Outline Proposals were invited with a deadline of 5 April 2017. One hundred and fifty-four eligible proposals were submitted to the programme, of which 75 involved social scientists eligible for ISSC funding. These proposals were assessed by the T2S Panel of Experts, and 35 invited to the Full Proposal stage. The deadline for the submission of Full Proposals is on 26 September 2017.
Funding decisions will be taken by the T2S funding partners in April 2018. Soon after, information on the funded projects will be published online – keep an eye on our website for more information.
