Along with general introductions and syntheses of social science literature, every World Social Science Report aims to weave together the current tapestry of social science research going on in the world today. It contains contributions from well known scholars in different parts of the world and keynote papers from the World Social Science Forum.
The ISSC seeks maximum involvement from its membership and regional partners in the production of the Report — ensuring a global voice in telling the story of social science research — and identifying regional trends in knowledge production, priority concerns in social science research and the main users of the knowledge produced.
The Reports will continue to :
- Monitor major trends in the development of social science knowledge systems
- Analyze how social sciences address global challenges and contribute to their solution
- Reflect on major issues that social science knowledge production faces across the world
- Seek to impact on social science research policy and management, including recommendations for action
