International Year of Light 2015published: January 19, 2021
2015 marks the International Year of Light, which brings together many different stakeholders including scientific societies and unions, educational institutions, technology platforms, non-profit organizations and private sector partners in raising global awareness about how light-based technologies promote sustainable development and provide solutions to global challenges in energy, education, agriculture and health.
The Opening Ceremony is taking place at UNESCO on 19th and 20th January. The ISSC and its Ethnografilm Festival are partners in the event. Ethnografilm Director Wes Shrum and Greg Scott have produced a film in order to inaugurate the event and celebrate the interplay between light and darkness.
The 2015 edition of the film festival which will take place from 8th to 12th April 2015 at the Ciné XIII in Montmartre and will have sessions dedicated to light.
